Are you ready for the exam or not? Find out before the GDC tells you.

The real Part 1 is two papers of around 200 questions each, three hours each, sat over two consecutive days — Paper A on day one, Paper B on day two. Both are one sitting and both have to be passed. Ours is drawn the same way — half from Paper A subjects, half from Paper B — and pitched at the moderate to hard end of our bank, so it feels like the real thing rather than a warm-up.

• Every question comes out of the same 6,357 verified questions our paying candidates get. Nothing here is written specially for the free paper.
• Nothing is marked until you submit — just like the real exam. You will not be told whether an answer is right as you go.
• The clock runs at the real paper's pace, and it stops you. Around 200 questions in three hours works out at a little under a minute each, and both lengths below are timed at exactly that rate. When time is up the paper is submitted with whatever you have answered, as it would be on the day.
• Until then you can change any answer, flag anything to come back to, and jump around freely.
• At the end: your mark, whether you cleared our 50% line, your Paper A and Paper B split, the subjects and topics costing you marks, and a worked explanation on every question.
